🎯 OVERVIEW

Objective: Create complete A0 (Absolute Zero) and A1 (Beginner) curriculum ready for launch/testing by June 30.

Target Audience: Spanish speakers learning English from zero

Multi-Language Ready: Spanish translations/context integrated throughout

Timeline: 2.5 weeks (June 13-30)

Format: Each lesson includes vocabulary, grammar, reading, listening cues, exercises, and Spanish translations


📚 CURRICULUM STRUCTURE

A0 LEVEL - "Survival English" (5 Units)

Goal: Learn phrases needed to survive in English-speaking environments. No grammar complexity.

Unit A0-1: Survival Phrases & Greetings ⭐ FIRST PRIORITY

"Las frases que necesitas para sobrevivir"

Learning Objectives:

  • Say hello/goodbye appropriately
  • Say "I don't understand"
  • Ask for help
  • Say basic politeness phrases

Key Phrases (15-20):

  • Hello / Hi / Good morning / Good afternoon / Good evening
  • Goodbye / Bye

Unit A0-2: Numbers 1-20 & Essential Objects

"Los números y las cosas"

Learning Objectives:

  • Count 1-20
  • Name common objects
  • Say "I have/want..."

Content:

  • Numbers 1-20 (with pronunciation)
  • 15 common objects: agua, café, comida, asiento, puerta, teléfono, etc.
  • Simple phrases: "I want..." "I have..." "How much?"

Exercises:

  • Number matching (audio to number)
  • Object identification (picture to word)
  • Fill-in-the-blank: "I want ___"
  • Listening comprehension (price in English)

Unit A0-3: Colors & Basic Descriptions

"Los colores"

Learning Objectives:

  • Name 10 colors
  • Use "This is..." "That is..."
  • Basic adjectives: big/small, hot/cold, good/bad

Content:

  • Colors: red, blue, yellow, green, black, white, orange, purple, brown, pink
  • Adjectives: big, small, hot, cold, good, bad, new, old
  • Phrases: "This is red" "That is big"

Exercises:

  • Color matching
  • Adjective opposites
  • Multiple choice descriptions
  • Picture labeling

Unit A0-4: Essential Verbs (Actions)

"Los verbos básicos"

Learning Objectives:

  • Recognize 10 basic verbs in present
  • Understand simple commands
  • Say what you're doing

Content:

  • 10 verbs: sit, stand, walk, eat, drink, sleep, work, read, write, listen
  • Present tense: "I sit" "She walks" "They eat"
  • Commands: Sit down, Stand up, Listen, Look, etc.

Exercises:

  • Match verb to action (picture/word)
  • Fill-in: "He _____ (walk)"
  • Listen and identify action
  • Simple error correction

Unit A0-5: Common Questions (Listening Focus)

"Las preguntas básicas"

Learning Objectives:

  • Understand common questions
  • Recognize when being asked something
  • Practice responding

Content:

  • What's your name?
  • How are you?
  • Where are you from?
  • What do you do?
  • Do you speak English?
  • How much is this?

Exercises:

  • Listen and match question to answer
  • Multiple choice responses
  • True/False comprehension
  • Speaking practice (record yourself answering)

A1 LEVEL - "Beginner Communicator" (6 Units)

Goal: Build basic sentence structures, simple conversations, practical scenarios.

Unit A1-1: Personal Introduction & "To Be"

"Presentándote - Yo soy..."

Learning Objectives:

  • Introduce yourself fully
  • Use "I am / You are / He is / She is"
  • Talk about nationality, profession, feelings

Content:

  • Grammar: Present Simple "to be" (all forms)
  • Vocabulary: nationalities, professions, feelings/emotions
  • Common opening phrases
  • Full introductions (3-4 sentences)

Reading: Sample introductions of 3 different people

Exercises:

  • Conjugation practice (fill in correct form)
  • Matching introductions
  • Multiple choice profession/nationality
  • Write your own introduction (guided)

Unit A1-2: Daily Routine & Present Simple Verbs

"Mi día - Las actividades diarias"

Learning Objectives:

  • Describe daily activities
  • Use present simple: I/you/they/we
  • Understand subject-verb agreement (-s/-es rules)

Content:

  • 15 common daily verbs: wake up, eat, work, study, play, exercise, relax, sleep, etc.
  • Time expressions: in the morning, at 7 o'clock, in the evening, etc.
  • Present simple conjugation patterns

Reading: Sample daily routine (paragraph format)

Exercises:

  • Verb conjugation (fill-in-the-blank)
  • Match time to activity
  • Error correction (3rd person -s mistakes)
  • Write your daily routine (guided template)

Unit A1-3: Present Simple Questions & Answers

"Haciendo preguntas"

Learning Objectives:

  • Form questions: Do you...? Does he...?
  • Ask and answer about daily life
  • Use question words: What, Where, When, Why, How

Content:

  • Question formation (auxiliary "do/does")
  • Question words and usage
  • Short answers
  • Common follow-up questions

Listening: Dialogue between two people asking questions

Exercises:

  • Match questions to answers
  • Form questions from statements
  • Multiple choice: Which question would you ask?
  • Conversation practice (fill-in dialogue)

Unit A1-4: Food & Ordering at Restaurant

"La comida - Pidiendo en un restaurante"

Learning Objectives:

  • Name common foods
  • Order food politely
  • Express preferences (I like / I don't like)

Content:

  • 20 foods (fruits, vegetables, proteins, drinks)
  • Present simple: "I like..." "I don't like..." "I want..."
  • Polite phrases: "Can I have...?" "I'd like..."
  • Restaurant vocabulary: menu, waiter, bill, etc.

Dialogue: Customer ordering at restaurant (natural speed with subtitles)

Unit A1-5: Shopping & Numbers

"De compras - Los números"

Learning Objectives:

  • Count to 100
  • Understand prices
  • Ask about quantities and costs
  • Shop in English

Content:

  • Numbers 20-100
  • Money vocabulary
  • Shopping phrases: "How much?" "What's the price?" "Do you have...?"
  • Size vocabulary: small, medium, large

Listening: Shopping conversations (multiple scenarios)

Exercises:

Unit A1-6: Describing People & Past Simple Intro

"Describiendo gente"

Learning Objectives:

  • Describe appearance and personality
  • Use adjectives (20+)
  • Introduction to past tense (simple stories)

Content:

  • Appearance adjectives: tall, short, young, old, beautiful, handsome, etc.
  • Personality: friendly, kind, funny, serious, smart, etc.
  • "He is..." "She has..." structures
  • Simple past: "Yesterday I..." (intro only)

Reading: Character descriptions + simple past story

Friday-Saturday (June 17-18):

  • ✓ Create A0-3 complete content (colors, adjectives)
  • ✓ Create A0-4 complete content (verbs, commands)

Sunday (June 19):

  • ✓ Review all A0-1 through A0-4 content
  • ✓ Feedback/edits from YOU
  • ✓ Create A0-5 content

WEEK 2: June 20-27 (A0 Completion + A1 Foundation)

Monday-Tuesday (June 20-21):

  • ✓ Finalize A0-5 based on feedback
  • ✓ Create A1-1 complete content

Wednesday-Thursday (June 22-23):

  • ✓ Create A1-2 complete content

Every A1 unit has:
